The Mandalorian has been an Instant World Wide Phenomenon since its release on Disney Plus in November of 2019. Created by Jon Favreau, it instantly became one of the most popular shows on the streaming service. While fans of the show have waited eagerly for season 3 to appear, the season 3 creators have been hard at work off-camera creating one of the most exciting chapters yet for their hit show. The Series Creator: Jon Favreau

Jon Favreau is the creator, executive producer, and showrunner for each of the first two seasons and will serve as executive producer for season 3 of The Mandalorian. He is known for being the creator of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, directing the first two Iron Man movies, in addition to revolutionizing the modern CGI model of movie-making with the development of The Jungle Book and Lion King.

Prior to his work on The Mandalorian, Favreau directed episodes of the Netflix show Chef’s Table, as well as a live-action remake of The Lion King. He has been a project leader for many of the most successful movies of the past twenty years, ranging from today’s big blockbusters to the cult classics of days past. The Directing Team

The directors for the third season of The Mandalorian have been announced and it looks like the lead roles will be filled by Robert Rodriguez, Peyton Reed, and Rick Famuyiwa.

Robert Rodriguez: Rodriguez received his first Academy Award nomination for the 2006 movie Children of Men. He has also directed movies like Spy Kids, From Dusk till Dawn, and Desperado. The New Characters

Season 3 of The Mandalorian looks to bring some brand new characters into the mix. From the looks of the casts listed on IMDB and various reports, here are some of the characters we can expect to see in the new season.

Mayfeld: The notorious character is a former Imperial sharpshooter, who, following the Empire’s defeat, moved on to become a mercenary for hire. He will be played by the highly acclaimed actor and MCU alum, Bill Burr.

Boba Fett: After his resurrection in The Mandalorian season 2, Boba Fett is set to make his return in Season 3. He will be portrayed by Temuera Morrison, who previously played the role of Jango Fett and the clones in the prequel films.

Cara Dune: Played by Gina Carano, this former rebel shock trooper is expected to return for the new season.

Heckler: Played by the hilarious SNL alum, Fred Armisen, Heckler is a cantankerous and skillful engineer who believes in the might of the Empire.

The Season 3 Plot

The narrative of season 3 of The Mandalorian has yet to be revealed, however, it is easy to speculate based on the events of the previous two seasons.

Season 3 looks to concentrate on “The Great Purge,” as hinted in the post-credits of the season 2 finale. The show is also expected to further explore the relationship between the Mandalorian, Din Djarin, and Baby Yoda, as well as the continued hunt for other Mandalorians that have ended up on various planets across the galaxy. The plot will also look to explain the origin of Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ stormtroopers, the Empire’s “child soldiers.”

We can probably also expect Boba Fett to have a significant role in the new season, especially since he is the de facto possession of Baby Yoda and is likely to accompany Din Djarin during his search for the remaining Mandalorians.

Cara Dune is also likely to be a constant presence throughout the season. Following the downfall of the Empire, she has become an ally of Din Djarin, and her quest against Imperial remnants could bring her to paths that Din Djarin hasn’t yet explored.

Season 3 of The Mandalorian promises to be an intense, astrologically rich, and action-packed chapter in the Star Wars universe. With Jon Favreau at the helm and a talented team of directors and writers, the show is sure to be a hit. The new season stands to bring some exciting plot twists, along with a few new characters, making it a must-watch for every Star Wars fan.
